Fit Tip…Start Your Swings In The Proper Position

A common mistake made with the kettlebell swing is picking up it from the ground and then initiating the swing, rather than initiating the swing from floor.

To start the kettlebell swing the kettlebell needs place out in front of the body, approximately 12-24 inches depending on the height of the client.

From here we hinge over grabbing the handle, while maintaining a flat back, neutral spine, and head.

Then the kettlebell is snapped backwards through the legs, as if you were hiking a football, to start the movement.

Doing your swings this way puts your back in a much safer position without the risk of injury. Try it the next time you have swings in your workout.
